Legiocomix Update - August 01st

Hello...

I really don't know what to say. After the 'end' (more like halt) of Thunder Girl story we had a huge drop of memberships. Huge. Seems like the locusts took what they wanted, then left. We tried to halt the droppings with pencil pin-ups while we produced more material that followed that story, but it was all in vain. It's disappointing, and frustrating. People don't care about art or quality, they just want 'wonder woman nekkid'.

We're tired and demoralized. It's the perfect time to push the cow off the cliff.

Enjoy your updates.

Fabs.

  1. Everything here looks nice, and I do appreciate that you took the time to make everything look nice, and that you give the members that DO appreciate your stuff something to enjoy.

Some people are just not appreciative of what others do, and it's just terrible.

  2. Sorry to hear about the drop in memberships. You guys put out quality artwork on each story that you do from: Superheroine Central,to 9superheroines an your own website.I've been collecting them all (probably missed a few though)an must say: "YOU GUYS ARE THE REASON I ENJOY EROTIC ARTWORK!" Y'all style is unique,I appreciate the dedication you guys put into this niche.
Don't push the cow of the cliff just yet, give it some time. They'll be back the quality is too good to pass up an you can't find this type of artwork just lying around on the internet. I'd suggest changing networks from what you've told us,that way you guys could advertise an get your name out there even more.Myself personally i'm still looking forward to Ginny's week an can't wait to see how the story develops.

  4. man that is heartbreaking to hear and I am very sorry, but please do not do anything reckless I am sure people will come back it just takes a little time. I for one loved the pencil pin-ups of all teh Superheroines so it was not all in vein for the members that support you we appreciate everything you do for us. Keep you heads held high everything will work its self out.

  6. I know I'm going to sound like an ass, but so be it. Fabs, you're running a business. The success or failure of your business is dictated by your customers. If they like what you're doing, then you'll prosper. If not, then you'll end up losing money and be forced to find something else to do.

The Thunder Girl comic was massively popular, not only in terms of new subscribers, but also in terms of how many people participated on the blog. Business was up and people were happy. But what did you do? Suddenly, the series was stopped and replaced with random pin-ups, a text-based story, and the continuation of an older series.

Are you really surprised that people left?

I understand that you need to keep people around from month to month to make money, but halting a popular series and replacing it with essentially filler is not the way to do business. Your customers sent you a message by going elsewhere. Instead of learning from this lesson and correcting your business model, you seem angry at the very people who give you money (and making fun of their spelling isn't going to help things). If they want to see Wonder Woman "nekkid," then give them Wonder Woman naked. The solution to the problem should be obvious. If not, maybe it is time to push the cow off the cliff.

    1. I do agree with you, and indeed I think we learned our lesson. Instead go into the easy way and get memberships in a fast way giving people a specific type of artwork - all about superheroines - we should have gone the hard way, building a solid client base more interested in our work, our way to depict girls, and comics, and narrative style - independent of the theme.

And I'm not angry, James Anonymous, I'm disappointed and frustrated. I don't blame the clients, I blame ourselves for bring on the superheroine stuff. We thought it would be a nice 'plus' to the costumers, but instead made they think its our sole OBLIGATION to make it, nonstop, nonstop, NONSTOP!!

    2. Fabs I actually may have an answer to why people have such an attachment to the superhero stuff, its as simple as we grew up reading them and have a connection to them. I like your orignal characters but I have know of them for very little time and have not built anys sort of connection to them out side of porn.

An idea I have is maybe you add a popular character (superhero) into your normal work. So if you are making a comic with who ever you add a cameo sex scene with like a Batgirl our something like that, then superhero fans get a superhero and a little more insight into your characters and you till get to devolp what you want. Any thoughts on that idea?

  7. I give an advice, the colored comics is much more popular, like single picture (pin -ups) !!! I love the Ginnys and Thunder Girl storys....and yes, 'wonder woman nekkid' too! The artwork is great, but i agree james, this is erotic artwork, not only ART....business.
I was sad, when I saw that you publish four colored comics pictures monthly, I canceled my membership next. The comic strip for me the most important one, not the pin-ups......
I see seven pictures charged now, but there is not a comic strip between them. Why is not one neither?
I would pay the membership if, this would change !!

  8. Never posted before but only reason I dropped my membership is due to going month by month and not auto renewing. I plan to renew with in the next few days.

  9. Most people have grown used to superheroines and are familiar with the fact that they are strong and powerful thus hard to tame. I think that plays at the subconscious attraction to the Wonder Woman Nekkid comic. There's a familiarity already established when you make art about superheroines whomever they may be. I really like your art but I also like there to be a story with it as well, pinups are nothing invested in the buildup of the outcome.

Seems to me that I am not the only one in thinking so. James anonymous is correct in that many people joined to see this comic (which you were fortunate to have them join because of). You have nothing to gripe about, if not for this comic you would not have stumbled upon the reason for the membership monies that you wish to judge us against.

Why not come up with a character all your own that you can put through a series of stories that people want to see, that way you will have created something all yours to take pride in. The corruption and all that fun story stuff can remain, just come up with someone badass so that the fall seems even greater.

    My two cents.

    1. Ya know now that i've had time to meditate on this event, this is really a opportunity in disguise.Legio did say that they were developing their own superheroines,so they just have to alter their time frame in releasing them to their fanbase.Like start small an release biography pictures twice a week or less? meanwhile continuing to churn out pinups,an finishing their other non-superheroines comics. That way they've kept their word an completed their stories(which was a issue pointed out in a recent post) an built upon the recent success of the superheroine comic that is on temporary hiatus.

  10. Frankly, I don't care about superheroines. You did a great job, great arts and one of the story I like the most is "Seth and Repree".

  11. I Loved your superhero work and would love to see it come back. I do enjoy your "orginal" work as well my only problem with it is many of the characters are not likeable. Seth and Repree not anything to them that makes me want to see them over and over again. Same goes with Ginny and Fuu. If you want to take them to the next level you have to give them there own personality.

I hate to be the one that says this but long term people do not stay for orignal characters and even a persons style. They stay for content and characters that they like and know for me and many others that is Superheros.

  12. All I will say is Fabs you brought this on yourself, You give attitude to many members when they have questions or concerns. Why would they support someone that treats people that are supporting them like shit.
I voiced an concern in my last post and you were an asshole about it it was not right and why would I stay and give you my money when you could not even show me respect.

Not a good week for content. The one pic is interesting but I am really bored when it comes to the Invisible Woman and her "tormentor" the one chick is so ugly its like she is a man with boobs she ruins every pic she is in.

A whole week with nothing new.... That is really out of character for Legio I hope they are not ditching us for that network.

This is a nice sampleage of the kind of stuff you write about us, here, in our face. And you have the nerve to tell me I'm an ass. You're basically the negative guy who writes to tell most what you don't like of the stuff we do than whatever you enjoyed. You even tried to flame people against FLAA network, like if we were ditch our members if we joined them. Tell me WHEN I gave people atitude, when they asked me anything politely or in a respectful way, or when they weren't trolling us with 'they are leaving us for them!' kind of questions. What concern you voiced there? That you wouldn't have acess to our material if we joined FLAA? Why you wouldn't? Please, now you tell me WHY you wouldn't?

    2. There is a big difference between saying your thoughts and opinions on something and personaly attacking someone. I have never attack you as a person yes sometimes I am the negative voice here but saying things like "Interesting picture but this set has not been my favorite" how is that me being an ass? I am tell you that it looks interesting them my opinion where did I attack you there? On the second comment yes I do look rather negative I was voicing my hatred for a certain character that has appeared in many many pictures and I could of not been so frank but was I the only one that voiced that opinion on that character? No there were many others that felt the same. When you give people additude look back at some of the hero sketches when people said one was too much you just gave them hell and for what there opinion?

When have you been an asshole to people look at what you wrote when you posted these pictures.... You act as if its our fault we like hero porn and do not like "your" work this should come as no surprise other peopels have pointed out why and I agree with them. I was not trying to flame people I was voice my acttual concern but you do not see it that way. I was more concerned with you joining FLAA without telling us so I did not waste my money on a month here were there would be nothing new. After reading this I did a little research about FLAA and saw many complaints and comments like "shady". Sorry for me uneasy about the change.

You have said you points Fabs its obvious that you do not like me and do not want me here. So if you want me to leave just say so and I will.

    3. Let me be the voice of reason here. Zoltan you can not take what Fabs said to you in you last post as face vaule, he and the team are under a lot of stress so they are going to be a little more surly. Zoltan just take a breather and look at it threw the eyes of someone that is stressed out and is dishearted that they are trying and trying but still nothing is working the way it should.

I wish you guys the best of luck Fabs in finding that right balance of "Fan art" and orginal content to make everyone happy.

  14. I enjoy the artwork and storylines of both your original work and heroines. I'm in multimedia Business myself. The quality of material you bring is well over others. I would love to see more of your own original work filtered in with new updates. And finding a way for us to bond with them is the secret. More updates might be the way to go so that we can adjust and get use to seeing them. Throw in a superhero or heroine with your in a pinup to keep them everything fresh. Either way I'm interested and will be here to see how things unfold. You my friends control your own business and this is the perfect opportunity to build and show people why you do what do and why you love it.

  15. As a member I am sad and concerned about the drops in memberships. But I will agree with what many has said here. You were able to get a hold of The Thunder Gal story from another site so that you could post high quality colored work witch was already completed so the updates came fast, fantastic for those of us who hadn't seen it. This should really boost memberships for that period of time. But after that came a trial and error 'Shorties' section in black and white. They where good sure but I'm here for the comics. That's what gets my attention and the reason I gladly pay a reccuring fee.
And about the Legio Girls vs Superheroines part ... the characters you have created aren't in my mind as good as many major superheroines out there. The characters lack a bit of character. I loved Outcast Night but it was more the Outcast themselves that did it for me than Seth or Repree. You're best story yet in my opinion is Sexy Seekers and those girls may not be "super" but they are Heroines. So they get more credibility and the story has more to it.

But to ask you the artists: How pleased are you with the current setup of Legio girls? Have they made the impact you thought they should?

  16. I LOVE you guys and after hearing that story, I feel sorry for those people who don't appreciate a good story. That Thunder Gal story is the best yet, but I DO look forward to see what happened with Thunder Gal and Power Girl.

  17. Speaking as one of those "guilty" of contributing to the "huge drops" let me say that (while I cant speak for everyone else) it has nothing to do with being locusts (at least in my case). Money has just been tight...in everything (internet, phone bill, Student loans, etc.) You have great art...dont stop...it's that quality that consistently brings me back when my money stabilizes... as for the other locusts' who knows
